Authentic, hand made, organic Waldorf dolls
Custom made Waldorf dolls, crafted by hand in a 16th century, oak beamed Tudor house
in a Herefordshire village.
The dolls are made from 100% organic cotton (Greenfibres) and recycled materials
and are totally unique.
These dolls, like people, are individuals and no two are ever the same. You can

Origins of Waldorf Style Dolls
The origins of this type of doll come from a strong European tradition of doll making
and they have been made in Germany since the 19th century. At this time, many dolls
and toys were made at home during long winter months with materials that were at
hand - wood, sheep's wool and cloth scraps. In this disposable age, the philosophy
is built upon by using recycled materials for the clothes.
Becoming known as "Waldorf Dolls" first in Europe and then later in America they
have a strong connection with Steiner teaching philosophy, the tradition of making
this particular type of doll continues to this day alongside the education.

The soft, Comfort Dolls can be cuddled by mum to absorb her scent and then given
to baby. Because they are made of 100% organic cotton they can be safely used for
teething and the medium and large ones contain a small bell.
The larger dolls can be custom made to include a child’s initial on the backpack,
or bag. Also, if you send us an item of the child’s clothing, this can be incorporated
to provide a not only unique but personalised doll that a child will treasure.
All clothes, including vest and pants can be removed for washing and the doll itself
is fully washable. (Use cool wool cycle or hand wash).
Each doll comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

as each doll is custom made and unique, styles and colours will vary slightly. Prices
are based on the doll sizes. Please let us know if you have a particular requirement
